The vast majority of in-use make-up products such as beauty blenders, mascara and lip gloss are contaminated with potentially life threatening superbugs, new research has revealed.

This is so true of me. I don’t clean my makeup bag (or brushes for that matter) enough. I’m not even talking about cleaning out, I talking throw in sink with soap and scrub. Remember to stay as hygienic as possible with your beauty products. Beauty Blenders, although expensive, are meant to be disposable. Ideally, clean those brushes after each use. Once a week also works especially for cream type brushes like your foundation and concealer brushes.

I think we all remember the not too distant past of these lipsticks, may they rest in peace.

If you find out you have pink eye, throw the mascara away and buy a new one. It’s less expensive than having to get eye drops every few weeks because you keep giving yourself a new infection.

Don’t forget to clean your sink too. Toilets tend to be surprisingly clean because we know they’re disgusting and therefore clean them all the time. It’s door handles and sinks that are rather disgusting. When is the last time you cleaned your door handles? One of the best ways to reduce flu and cold outbreaks in schools is to use a bleach wipe or cleaning wipe to clean door knobs during a walk through, which every principal and vice-principal will do at least once a day.

The thought of smearing around bacteria on my face grosses me out. Off to clean my bathroom and makeup bag.

XOXO-
